Accessibility Policy

Statement of Commitment

Niagara City Cruises anchored by Hornblower (“NCC”) is committed to providing employees and guests with a safe, secure and respectful environment to work and visit. We believe in integration and equal opportunity. We dedicate ourselves to creating amazing experiences for all our guests and employees and strive to meet the needs of those with disabilities. We will do this by preventing and removing barriers to meet requirements under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act.

Training

NCC will provide Accessibility Standards for Customer Service training to all employees. New employees will be trained during New Hire Orientation upon commencement of employment.

NCC will maintain employee training records that include; date of training completed and acknowledgement from each employee.

Accessible Emergency Information

NCC is committed to providing our customers with publicly available emergency information. Accessible formats and communication support for persons with disabilities will be provided upon request in a timely manner that considers the person’s accessibility needs.

We will provide employees who have disabilities with individualized emergency response information when necessary.

Information and Communications

NCC is committed to making our information and communications accessible to persons with disabilities.

In the event of a planned or unexpected disruption to services or facilities for customers with disabilities, NCC will notify our customers promptly by posting a notice that includes the reason for the disruption, its anticipated length of time and a description of alternative facilities or services.

NCC has taken the necessary steps to make our website conform to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0, Level A. By January 1, 2021, all NCC websites will conform to WCAG 2.0, Level AA.

NCC has established a Quality Management Program in which customer feedback allows for multiple types of communication such as face to face interactions, Social Media, Tour Operator Feedback, and Web Surveys. The data gathered from these sources enable us to determine accessibility gaps and take prompt action to resolve issues.

We will ensure our customer feedback program is accessible to people with disabilities by providing, or arranging for the provision, of accessible formats and communication supports upon request.  To view our accessible customer service feedback process, click here.

NCC welcomes people with disabilities and their service animals. Service animals are allowed on the parts of our premises that are open to the public.

Support Persons

NCC welcomes all customers with disabilities who are accompanied by a support person. A support person will be offered a complimentary ticket to our Voyage to the Falls Boat Tour.

NCC will consult with the applicant and arrange for a suitable accommodation that considers the applicant’s accessibility needs.

Upon commencement of employment, NCC will notify successful applicants of our policies for accommodating employees with disabilities.
